MERCI FOR ALL THE PATIENCE YOU HAVE HAD WITH ME...
I AM NEARLY DONE WITH THE CATCHING UP...
THESE ARE FROM MY TRIP OVER TO ALABAMA WITH THE MUNCHKIN TO HOUSE SIT FOR MY PARENTS... WE HAD SUCH A GOOD TIME!!
WE WENT TO MONTEVALLO, OF COURSE... I JUST HAVE TO GO THERE!
AWWW!!! I TALKED HER INTO THIS ONE, BUT IT WAS TOO CUTE TO RESIST!
THEN WE WENT TO THE CAHABA RIVER... TO SWIM AND SEE THE LILIES... SHE ALSO WANTED TO PICK UP SHELLS AND ROCKS... I HAD TO DRAG HER AWAY, SHE DIDN'T WANT TO LEAVE ANY SHELLS OR ROCKS THERE! LOL!
THE LILLIES GROW RIGHT ON THE RIVER... IF YOU REMEMBER MY POST BACK AT EASTER WITH PHOTOS OF THE RIVER? THIS IS THE SAME PLACE... ONLY NOW ALL GROWN UP WITH LILIES!
I COULD NEVER GET A CLOSE-UP OF THE LILIES... I WAS NOT BRAVE ENOUGH TO GO OUT THAT FAR AND TRY EITHER. LOL!
BUT I DID GET SOME PHOTOS OF SCENERY AND THE OTHER PLANT LIFE AROUND THE RIVER FOR YOU...
THAT WAS JUST ABOUT ALL OF THE PHOTOS I TOOK IN ALABAMA...
I TOOK A FEW AT THE BEACH THE OTHER DAY, BUT I WILL SHARE THEM IN ANOTHER POST... I THINK THIS ONE IS FULL ENOUGH...

Where in Alabama did you go? I've only ever been to north and eastern AL. Not nearly as pretty as this...
@ai_shitemo - THIS IS ACTUALLY A BIT SOUTH-WEST OF BIRMINGHAM. (THAT IS THE AREA YOU ARE FROM, NO?) ABOUT 30 MINS EAST OF TUSCALOOSA. I LOVE THAT AREA. IT IS PERFECTLY PLACED BETWEEN THE CITIES THAT YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH OF A DRIVE FOR A SHOPPING TRIP OR A DAY OFF, BUT IT IS IN THE COUNTRY WITH BEAUTIFUL SCENERY... THIS PARTICULAR PART OF THE RIVER WAS IN WEST BLOCTON... A TINY TOWN IN BIBB COUNTY...
@FUNKIEFAIRY - I'm kinda from that area... Montgomery is south of Birmingham. If you ever find yourself there again, check out Wetumpka. It has a beautiful park, courthouse, river, HUGE bridge, lots of trees and flowers... *sighs* it's beautiful. One of the last places we went before moving.
Have you ever been to Desoto Caverns?
@ai_shitemo - I LOVE MONTGOMERY... THOUGH I HAVE TO BE DRAGGED FROM ASF EVERY TIME I GO. LOL! I HAVE NEVER BEEN TO DESOTO CAVERNS AND I DON'T THINK I HAVE BEEN TO THAT PARK... IT HAS BEEN AGES SINCE I HAVE BEEN THERE. WHERE MY PARENTS LIVE IS ABOUT AN HOUR NORTH WEST OF MONTGOMERY...
@FUNKIEFAIRY - ASF is beautiful. Taking pictures of the sheep statues is so funny! And the Art Museum right next to it... I loved the hands-on center. And Mom and I got in trouble with the guards once for dipping our feet into this little pond outside that was an artpiece. HOW WERE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW? There's no sign or anything... well, there probably is NOW. But there wasn't.
Wetumpka is a city that has a park.
Oh, do they? Cool!
@ai_shitemo - ASF IS GREAT! WE USED TO GO FOR SHOWS AND STUFF, BUT HAVE NOT BEEN IN YEARS! THERE IS AN ART GALLERY?!? I DIDN'T KNOW THAT! I HAVE TO GET BACK THERE!!
WETTUMPKA? SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING THAT COULD KILL A CAT! THOUGHT IT WAS THE NAME OF THE PARK! LOL!!
YEAH! I LOVE GOING UP THERE... IT IS BEAUTIFUL PLACE AND HAS TWO OF MY FAVORITE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD... WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO GO? LOL!
@FUNKIEFAIRY - yeah, there's an art museum next to ASF.
rofl! no, we have some strange names in AL.
nice photos
@ai_shitemo - I REALLY GOTTA GET BACK THERE!! YEAH, I KNOW... BUT I CAN'T HELP BUT LOVE THE PLACE... LOL!
@Jillycarmel - THANKS!!
@FUNKIEFAIRY - gahh, I know... I remember that the park next to it had all these random buildings that looked like mini-light houses, and I asked my mom if we could go into one for my birthday. She said we could, but we both forgot until after my birthday had passed... TT^TT
But it IS an awsome place. If you follow the winding brick road that leads out of it, you end up in front of my mom's old apartment building! And that has a beautiful little duck-and-swan-infested park. So pretty. <3
@ai_shitemo - I WAS TALKING TO MY MOM AND WE AGREED THAT WE NEEDED TO SET UP A DAY TO GO AND SEE A SHOW AND PLAY IN MONTGOMERY... THERE IS A REALLY AWESOME MUSEUM THERE THAT I LOVE TOO... NEXT TO THE JEFFERSON DAVIS HOUSE... IT IS DOWN TOWN... ANY WHO, I GOT HOOKED ON MONTEVALLO AND HAVE NOT BEEN BACK TO MONTGOMERY SINCE... LOL!
